The Congress of the International Association of Educating Cities is held every two years. It gathers mayors and municipal technical staff as well as representatives of organizations from the civil society from all over the world, in a place of meetings and dialogs to exchange practices and foster debate.
Rosario will be playing host to the 14th Congress of Educating Cities in 2016, “Territories of Coexistence in the Cities”. The focus will be on building more socially just cities that will foster solidarity and will respect diversity by encouraging equal opportunities and social integration as principles that enable this construction.
An educating city is a concept that invites us to think our cities as a place for learning, as a natural space for coexistence and dialog. It fosters democratic citizenry, it tells us that we can live together and learn to live in a community, to get involved, to cooperate and cause our cities to become educating spaces, with their multiplicity of actors and institutions.
