Rosario, connectivity and accessibility
An important network of national and provincial roads connects the city with the rest of the towns in the province and the country.
It is located at a point of convergence of several roads, railroad and water networks, which provides it with strategic connectivity at regional level. The impressive Bridge “Nuestra Señora del Rosario”, which connects Rosario with Victoria is a fundamental roadway, and a characteristic feature of the city’s landscape.
The main road corridors that communicate Rosario with the national territory are made up of three highways that provide access to the city:
From the North, the city may be reached through the Estanislao López highway, which connects Rosario with the city of Santa Fe, 150 Km. away and with other smaller towns in our province.
From the West, the city is accessed by the Ernesto Che Guevara highway, which communicates it with the city of Cordoba, located 400 Km. away; and from the South, the Eugenio Aramburu highway joins Rosario with the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires, which lies at a distance of 300 Km., and with many other towns in the South of Santa Fe and the North of the Province of Buenos Aires.
Completing these territorial connections, from the East, the city is reached through a uniquely large bridge that crosses over the Paraná River, and links Rosario with the Province of Entre Rios, which connects it with the national border between the Republic of Argentina and the Republic of Uruguay.
In order to facilitate the arrival of passengers by road, Rosario has the Mariano Moreno Bus Terminal, which provides daily services towards the capital cities of all Argentine provinces and other cities in the country. There are also daily services towards neighbouring countries such as Uruguay, Brazil, Paraguay, Chile and connections to and from Peru and Bolivia.
Its central position in relation to the Porto Alegre-Valparaíso bio-oceanic corridor and the Paraná- Paraguay waterway are also factors that facilitate the access to the city.
In addition, Rosario has the Rosario Islas Malvinas International Airport, located about 15 Km. from the city centre, which is the only International Airport in the Province of Santa Fe, and the only alternative Airport to the Ezeiza Ministro Pistarini International Airport.
Through the years, the Rosario Islas Malvinas International Airport has become an important Terminal because of its cargo and passenger movement, which has turned it in a pillar of the region’s growth. The airport boasts international departures towards neighbouring countries, and, via the city of Sao Paulo, to destinations all over America and Europe. It also provides daily communication with the city of Buenos Aries and the capital cities of all other Argentine provinces.
