The 14th Congress will take place at the area that belongs to Ciudad Joven (City of Youth an espace that has been recovered for public use and that has a varied social and cultural programme in a total area of 126.000 square metres.
Ciudad Joven aims at consolidating the recreational, touristic and productive profile of the riparian corridor and recovering the public space with an integrative function of social inclusion.
The architectural project “Ciudad Joven” was developed by the Specials Projects Unit from the Ministry of Public Works and Housing in a consultative manner with the Secretary of Planning of the Municipality of Rosario.
Each space involved in the Congress has a different cultural mark:
- CENTRO DE EXPRESIONES CONTEMPORÁNEAS
It is an old port warehouse grain, placed on the banks of the Parana River and recycled in 1995 to become, since then, a cultural center.
It is oriented towards new trends and segments of participation that belong to the Franja Joven with performances (dance, theatre, music, and etcetera), interdisciplinary exhibitions, training and research seminars, deepening and exchange with the media, arts and language.
- GALPÓN DE LA MÚSICA
The Galpón de la Música was fully renovated, remodeled first within the framework of the municipality/province Ciudad Joven project, and subsequently adapted and equipped with an investment provided by the company San Cristóbal which, in the frame of its 75º anniversary, led to the creation of Espacio 75, a network of twinned cultural centers in Córdoba, Mar del Plata and Rosario.
On the ground floor is located the Centro de Culturas Urbanas, the rock and urban music school, the auditorium, the school of urban arts, public and neighborhood activities.
Underground there is a digital plant, a space in which cultural enterprises are created within the framework of creative economy related to the use of new technologies.
- GALPÓN 13
On the ground floor there is the Fábrica Cultural and a space for marketing of design objects. Exhibitions and events are held here such as “El Porvenir de las Palabras”.
The walk in honor of Fontanarrosa presents a sculptural group with the most representative characters of the renowned local cartoonist and writer.
